FROM ACTION TO DISCOVERY

How the interaction works

01

Choose a cloud

Select one of the rim-mounted buttons.

02

Release the shower

Water arrives through the mast and falls beneath its rounded canopy.

03

LEARNING THROUGH PLAY

What visitors can discover

This concept brings rainfall, cause and effect and comparison into a shared water-table setting. Visitors can explore the idea at their own pace and compare what they notice with a partner.

Cause and effect

Each control has a clear, visible response.

Comparing systems

Independent clouds let visitors identify which button supplies which shower.

Water collection

Falling streams collect in the receiving table below.

PART OF A BIGGER WATER TABLE

Planning Rain Canopies

Keep the buttons close to the rim while positioning the canopies over a receiving basin. Develop spray distribution and drainage to suit the splash zone.

The arrangement can be developed for a museum, science centre or play space as part of a custom water table. Final dimensions, materials and operating performance are established during design and engineering.
